In 1995, Jeff graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, moved to Polk County, and took a position as a judicial law clerk for the Circuit felony judges in Bartow. Jeff then became an appellate and a felony trial attorney for the Public Defender’s Office in Bartow for two years. In 1998, Jeff joined the Law Offices of Stidham & Stidham and has remained a part of the firm since then.

Jeff has honed his trial skills in the civil and criminal courts throughout central Florida by handling more than fifty criminal and civil trials, while preparing hundreds more along the way. In criminal court, Jeff has represented people charged with all types of misdemeanors and felonies, ranging from battery, DUI, vehicular homicide, drug possession and trafficking, and murder. On the civil side, Jeff has been involved with cases related to personal injury, medical malpractice, complex business litigation, and insurance disputes.

Jeff is the former City Attorney for Polk City, and has represented the Early Learning Coalition of Polk County, and currently represents the School Board of Polk County in many of its litigation matters.

Two of Jeff’s most memorable trial success stories were winning a "not guilty" verdict on an armed robbery case for a young man facing life in prison and, along with Jon Stidham, winning a $60 million wrongful death verdict for two grieving parents.

In addition to his trial practice, Jeff has filed nearly 200 criminal and civil appeals. Some notable decisions are Yanez v. State, 744 So.2d 601 (2d DCA 1999)(felony murder conviction reversed), Antunes-Salgado v. State, 987 So.2d 222 (2d DCA 2008)(new trial awarded on trafficking in cocaine conviction), Love v. State, 706 So.2d 923 (2d DCA 1998)(possession of cocaine conviction reversed due to illegal stop of vehicle), Corson v. State, 9 So.3d 765 (2d DCA 2009)(new trial awarded on lewd molestation charge), McCoy v. State, 789 So.2d 489 (2d DCA 2001)(armed burglary conviction reduced), and Lovering v. Nickerson, 72 So.3d 780 (5th DCA 2011)(negligence claim reinstated because trial court erred by ruling workers’ compensation immunity barred the negligence claim).

Jeff has been a Polk County resident and attorney for 25 years. He is the former president of Christina Girls Softball where he donated hundreds of hours of his time from 2015-2020 to the youth of Polk County.

Currently, Jeff lives in Lakeland with his wife and three children, and is a member of The Church of the Resurrection.
